Clarification of VSI
Clarification Regarding VSI:
The MD of Spirit River has not moved to discontinue membership with the VSI program.
The motion made by Reeve Van Rootselaar was to table discontinuation of the MD of Spirit River’s membership with VSI.
The motion directed the MD Ag Fieldman to talk with area cattle producers to assess if they are satisfied with the services they receive and to determine if producers had suggestions on better ways to spend the money.
Once the discussions are complete, the information will be brought back to council.

Regular Council Meeting- June 4th starting at 9am
Voterlink Closure
According to Elections Alberta, writs have been written for three provincial by-elections in other parts of the province. Due to these events, Voterlink.ab.ca will be closed for registration from June 11th through June 24th. Therefore, if you have yet to register for the October 20, 2025 Municipal Elections, you may do so up until and including June 10th. Otherwise, you will have the opportunity again starting on June 25th.
Remember that all voters in the MD of Spirit River must be on the permanent Electors Registry. If you do not register beforehand, you will be required to do so at the voting station on Election Day. Pre-registering will simply make the voting process faster on that day.

The next Council Meeting will be held on June 4th,2025 at 9:00am in the Council Chambers located in the MD Office in Spirit River.
