Fire Restriction is now in effect.

Fire Restriction

Due to ongoing dry conditions and gusty winds, areas of exposed cured fuels pose a significant wildfire risk. The FIRE HAZARD is now very high. As a result, fire restrictions are now in effect within the borders of the MD #133 of Spirit River. Effective immediately.

Open burning of heavy fuels is not allowed in the MD #133 of Spirit River at this time.

Please exercise caution when conducting activities in dry cured fuels.

Safe campfires are allowed in fire pits in campgrounds or in residential fire pits. No campfires (or other open fires) or charcoal briquettes are allowed in back country or random camping areas. Gas, propane stoves, BBQ’s and portable propane fire pits are allowed.

Please make sure your campfire is completely extinguished when you leave it. (Soak it, stir it, soak it again.)

The FIRE RESTRICTION will remain in place until conditions improve.
