Wetland Innovation Workshop

The 2nd annual Wetland Innovation Workshop at the Boreal Wetland Centre on September 24th is nearing! Be sure to register for the event to confirm your spot for an inspiring day of outdoor learning! This year’s theme is “Innovation in a Changing World”, which will include the following anticipated topics:

 

  • Natural Resources Canada (Jaime Pinzon, Restoration Ecology Scientist) – Seismic Lines through Peatlands: Challenges faced during restoration

 

  • Woodlands North (Bruce Nielsen, General Manager) – Watercourse Crossing Collaborative Field Guide Development

 

  • County of Grande Prairie No. 1 (Cassandra Madlung-Chabot, Project Manager) – Wetland Inventory Mapping and Watershed Study in the County of Grande Prairie

 

  • Grande Prairie Friendship Centre (Lindsy Coney, Pitone Youth Program Coordinator) – Braiding Traditional Ecological Knowledge with Indigenous Youth at the Boreal Wetland Centre

 

  • West Fraser (Scott Miller, Indigenous Community Engagement Coordinator) – Indigenous consultation practices from a forestry lens
